Our Commitment to Safety

At My Plastic Limited, the safety, health, and welfare of our employees, contractors, visitors, and surrounding community are fundamental to how we operate.

We are committed to maintaining a safe, healthy, and legally compliant workplace in accordance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act, 2007 (Kenya) and other applicable regulations.

We believe that all injuries and occupational illnesses are preventable. Health and safety considerations are integrated into our daily operations, manufacturing processes, and management decisions.

Our Health & Safety Principles

We are committed to:

  • Providing and maintaining safe premises, plant, machinery, and systems of work

  • Identifying, assessing, and controlling workplace risks proactively

  • Ensuring employees receive appropriate safety training and supervision

  • Supplying and enforcing the use of suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Preventing workplace injuries, occupational diseases, and environmental harm

  • Maintaining emergency preparedness, including fire safety systems and drills

  • Complying with all applicable health, safety, and environmental legislation

  • Promoting a culture of accountability, hazard reporting, and continuous improvement

Employee Responsibilities

All employees are required to:

  • Follow established health and safety procedures

  • Use equipment, tools, and PPE correctly and responsibly

  • Immediately report hazards, near-misses, or incidents

  • Avoid unsafe acts or behaviors

  • Participate in required safety training and drills

Failure to comply with safety requirements may result in disciplinary action.

Contractor & Visitor Safety

All contractors and visitors must:

  • Comply with site safety rules and instructions

  • Attend a site safety induction where required

  • Wear appropriate PPE while on premises

  • Remain within authorized areas only

Access to restricted operational zones is strictly controlled to ensure safety.

Risk Management & Monitoring

To maintain high safety standards, we:

  • Conduct regular risk assessments and safety inspections

  • Hold periodic Health & Safety Committee meetings

  • Investigate incidents and implement corrective measures

  • Monitor compliance with internal safety procedures

  • Review performance indicators related to workplace safety

Safety performance is reviewed regularly by management to ensure accountability and improvement.

Emergency Preparedness

We maintain emergency response procedures, including:

  • Fire detection and suppression systems

  • Clearly marked emergency exits and assembly points

  • First aid facilities and trained first aid personnel

  • Routine fire drills and emergency simulations
