Commitment to Address Risks of Modern Slavery

My Plastic Limited is committed to conducting business with integrity, transparency, and respect for fundamental human rights.

We recognize that modern slavery, forced labour, debt bondage, child labour, and human trafficking remain significant global risks, particularly within manufacturing and recycling supply chains. As a responsible manufacturer operating in Kenya, we maintain a strict zero-tolerance approach to all forms of exploitation.

We are committed to ensuring that modern slavery has no place within our operations or supply chain.

Our Business

My Plastic Limited produces premium recycled polypropylene (PP) plastics for consumer and industrial applications. As part of the circular economy, we source recycled materials and collaborate with suppliers, transport providers, and community stakeholders across Kenya.

We acknowledge that recycling and raw material sourcing environments may present heightened risks, particularly where informal labour structures exist. Accordingly, we apply enhanced oversight and responsible sourcing practices to safeguard worker dignity and rights.

Our Zero-Tolerance Commitment

We prohibit:

  • Forced or compulsory labour

  • Child labour

  • Human trafficking

  • Debt bondage

  • Involuntary prison labour

  • Retention of identity documents

  • Recruitment fees charged to workers

  • Any practice that restricts freedom of movement

Any confirmed breach of these principles may result in immediate corrective action, including termination of supplier relationships.

Ethical Employment Practices

Within our own operations, we are committed to:

  • Providing written employment contracts

  • Paying fair wages in accordance with applicable labour laws

  • Ensuring safe and healthy working conditions

  • Respecting working hour regulations

Employees and contractors are free to leave employment in accordance with contractual and legal provisions.

Responsible Recruitment

We maintain responsible recruitment standards, including:

  • No worker-paid recruitment fees

  • Transparent terms of employment prior to engagement

  • No misleading or deceptive hiring practices

  • Respect for worker freedom and mobility

Supply Chain Due Diligence

We recognize that risks of modern slavery may arise within:

  • Recycling collection networks

  • Transport and logistics operations

  • Raw material suppliers

  • Subcontracted services

To mitigate these risks, we:

  • Conduct supplier vetting prior to onboarding

  • Require adherence to our Supplier Code of Conduct

  • Include anti-slavery and ethical labour clauses in supplier agreements

  • Assess higher-risk suppliers through additional review

  • Require corrective action where gaps are identified

Suppliers are expected to uphold equivalent standards within their own supply chains.

Governance & Oversight

  • A designated Compliance Officer oversees the implementation of this commitment.

  • Senior management is responsible for ethical oversight and risk review.

  • Employees are encouraged to report concerns confidentially and without fear of retaliation.

  • Allegations of exploitation are investigated promptly and independently.
